The Gauntlet is Veto's core feature — a structured AI conversation that walks you through three frameworks before you decide to buy anything:
After running the Gauntlet, Veto issues one of five verdicts — each with a clear rationale:
You choose how Veto talks to you about your purchases. Three options:
You can change your tone at any time in Settings → Profile.
No. Veto never connects to your bank, reads your transactions, or asks for financial credentials of any kind. You tell Veto what you're considering buying; it helps you think it through. That's it.
One Veto account works across:
Android is also coming soon. Your Purchase Considerations and Pro entitlement follow the same account everywhere.
The web app at app.get-veto.app uses the same Veto account and library as iOS. It’s also where you manage AI assistant (MCP) connections under Settings.
On supported store pages, the extension can detect product details locally so you can review them and start a Gauntlet. It does not save your browsing history, cart, checkout details, or payment information. Product data reaches your Veto account only after you choose to begin. Get it from the Chrome Web Store or Safari (Mac App Store). See the Privacy Policy for the full extension section.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets AI assistants you trust create Purchase Considerations and run Gauntlets in your Veto account after you authorize them on the web consent screen. You can disconnect a host anytime in Settings → AI assistant connections.
Advisor replies returned to the assistant may also appear in that host’s chat under the host’s own privacy policy. Read the MCP section of the Privacy Policy →
Yes. Advisor Allowance and Veto Pro are account-wide — shared across iOS, web, the extension, and MCP. There is no separate quota per device or assistant.
Veto offers a free tier that lets you run a limited number of Gauntlet conversations. Veto Pro unlocks:
You can subscribe via the App Store and/or a web purchase flow where offered (for example from the extension). Cancel in the channel you used to buy. Entitlement follows your Veto account across surfaces.
30 days after you record a purchase decision, Veto sends a check-in: "Was it worth it?" You rate the purchase and reflect on actual utility vs. expected utility.
Over time, this builds genuine self-awareness about the gap between what you think you'll use and what you actually use.
Your purchase considerations and conversations are stored in your private account across iOS, web, the extension, and MCP. We don't sell your data, show you ads, or share your information with third parties beyond what's necessary to run the Service (Firebase infrastructure, AI analysis, crash reporting where integrated, and hosts you authorize).
AI analysis happens server-side via Cloud Functions — your name and email are never sent to Anthropic. Read the full privacy policy →
Yes. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account in the iOS or web app. This permanently removes your data from our servers, including MCP connections. The action cannot be undone.
We read every message and usually reply within one business day.
